Being a foody, there aren't any Biryani outlets left in kolkata I haven't tried.I dont want to disappoint others who enjoy Biryani from.other famous oitlets in kolkata.
For me Kolkata serves the tastiest Biryani compared to any other State. Those who dont agree no offence please.I have travelled throughout India being in such a profession but I couldn't match Kolkata's taste and aroma wbile preparing Biryani.
Royal was just a casual visit for me. Never thought it will become my all time favourite.Restaurant is located at a very busy street of Kolkata, Chitpur. It is a connection between North Kolkata and Howrah.
The busy streets will definately not make you happy but the food will make you happier. The ground floor has live cooking and many parcel orders crowd.A series of step will lead you to its mouthwatering destination. They have both A/C and non a/c options.
They have a very short and crisp menu some items are available on special days.If you have any particular choice in mughlai cuisine just call them and verify their speciality for the day.
They offer amazing kababs, my favourites are Chicken Reshmi Malai Kofta and Nargisi Korma.
Often the Nargisi gets over in a jiffy.
Now surely I hit their authentic Biryani. Mutton being my all time favourite. The mutton is well cooked and melts in the mouth. The colour unlike other Biryani's is not yellow and its mostly white.
They offer no potato and egg. If you try Hyderabadi or Lucknowi Biryani you wont find either.
The taste is divine and you will never burp the aroma of Biryani after having it.
It is truly light and healthy.one biryani is enough for two( in case of me and mom) and if you can have one whole biryani it wont harm your digestive system. Authentic Mughal recipie.
Hook it up with either Muttin Rezalla or Muttin chap.Mutton Chap has uncountable small pieces odboness ans with bone mutton. It has a dark collur with little gravy. You can easily share it. Mutton Rezalla again finishes in short notice. Though it hasa white gravy but it is quite spicy. One can see the red chillies floating in the thixk white gravy adding on to the contrast.
The mutton curry is also very nice. Mutton is fresh and bot smelly.Still if you like to end the Chap or Rezalla alone try ending it on a roti note. Ha! Ha!Yes, try their Rumali Roti, Tandoors and Naan, they compliment each other.
Their Mutton Tikka is mouth watering. You feel the mutton keema pieces with every bite.Their Murgh Mussalam which is served on prior notice or order is amazing. Do order theirSalads.
Help yourself with Sprite or Coke. Now for deserts their Phirni has no competition. Its wholesome and rightly Suggared. It is served in a clay bowl. Lastly they serve the finger bowls and all stickiness is gone.
The items are rightly priced. Only a little diffrence in A/C or Non-A/C seating options.Staffs are very well behaved and provide the orders in a short notice. So please visit and be a part of history. Just a small piece of advice; try visiting the A/C centre after 7pm. As they open it on time it
So grab your fav mughal food.
I love it.
