Movie Review – Rowdy Rathore

Cinematography:

I enter in the cinema hall with high exception to see some high voltage actions like Salman Khan’s Dabaang and Wanted. But within five minutes of the film, I realised it’s not at all like those movies which grab the people from start to the end with the extra ordinary dialogues or actions. But it also has humorous touch which made the audience laugh out loud with Akshay doing some fully faadu stunts.

The Story:

Shiva (Akshay Kumar), a small-time con in Mumbai, falls in love with Priya (Sonakshi Sinha), a girl from Patna, who is in Mumbai to attend a friend’s marriage. Akshay proposes to Priya and she accepts it with a broad smile. Akshay tells her the truth about him being a thief and resolves to give up crime forever.

But before that, he decides to swindle one last person for a large sum of money. This leads Akshay to Chinki, a young girl, who thinks that he is her father. Shiva is force to keep the child with him as Yashpal Sharma – a policeman keeps his eye on him. Although he tries keeping Chinki away from Priya’s eyes, the latter finds out about Chinki. Angry and hurt, Priya leaves for Patna.

Shiva is heartbroken. Soon, unknown goons attack him, thinking him to be Vikram Rathore, Chinki’s real father. While many unknown persons help Shiva run to safety with Chinki in his arms, he is soon surrounded by the goons. It is then that Vikram Rathore – Chinki’s real father makes an appearance and saves them. But he is grievously injured in the fight.

What happens next? Who is Vikram Rathore? Does he survive? Why are the goons attacking Vikram and Chinki? What does Shiva do next? Is he able to win back Priya’s love? To find out the answers for these question watch the movie.

Performances:

Akshay Kumar’s double role in the film is good in both as a rowdy and as an honest police offer, he tries hard to keep the audience grabbing with his dialogues from the start to the end. Sonakshi Sinha is just fine, hope she gets to say some more dialogues in her forthcoming films. Paresh Ganatra is a delight in the role of Shiva’s friend. Yashpal Sharma another talented actor also plays a fine role as an inspector. The girl playing Chinki is cute. Her innocent face and simple dialogue delivery just touches your heart.

Special appearances:

Kareena Kapoor charms up the whole song as she makes an appearance in Chinta Ta Ta Chinta song. Prabhu Dheva and South superstar Vijay are alright in their guest appearances in the same song.

Songs:

All the songs of Rowdy Rathore are already on the audience mind. The songs I like are ‘Tera Ishq Bada Tekha’ and the item song ‘Aa Re Pritam Pyaare’.

Final Words on Rowdy Rathore:

You will surely come out with a smile after watching Rowdy Rathore as this is the one entertaining film that will leave you with some very interesting dialogues, comedy and action stunts. Watch this film for the return of the Khiladi of Bollywood - Akshay Kumar.

Star rating: 3 ½ stars.
