A hit combo's(farhan akhtar n' shankar-ehsan-loy) here with another sure -hit album.it has to be admitted that our film music still relies largely on melodies. well, then here's one album which dares to be different atleast in the indian context. with rock as its genre, ROCK ON! makes for good listenin'.
farha akhtar makes his actin' and singin' debut with this movie.the title track's(rock on.) rendered by farhan and he does a good job. the song begins with the tune from LAKSHYA(the cliff climbin' sequence if u remember) and then farhan just takes the song higher with his raw n' fresh voice.will be hearin' it soon on radio.
zahreele . thats another track to watch out for.a hint of metal in the song will be definitely a novel experience for those who don't listen to metal music.with betrayal as its theme the track just makes u think with its unconventional https://lyrics.kudos to the lyricist.
sindbad the sailorand pichle saat dinr typical concert tracks.good use of elec. guitar n' percussion like in other songs of the album makes for good listenin'.
where r the ladies u may ask. they are there very much. in tracks like.phir dekhiye and yeh tumhari meri baatein . job well done by the ladies.
farhan akhtar comes back with soft no. tum ho toh . considerin' this tobe his debut he does show some variety.
however, this ain't a perfect album.only problem bein' its sound is too western for everyone. strictly for the youth.one also misses the sound of india in it. for those who are exposed to western music may question its originality.
but the key point heres' that it dares to be different. kudos to shankar-ehsan-loy for this refreshin' piece of music.
overall, this is somethin' that hindi film music hasn't seen, check this album out. worth it.or as they say.'enjoy the difference!'
