Maruti pictures(pvt)ltd.`s ''Rishtey''is based on the relationships between husband and wife,father and son,mother and son.It has the star cast of Anil Kapoor,Karisma Kapoor,Shilpa Shetty,Master Jibraan,Amrish Puri,Alok Nath and Deepshikha. The story is about Sooraj(Anil Kapoor),a father who had to kidnap his own son(Master Jibraan Khan). He loes his son,dearly.His son,can`t walk but his father does not agree and believes that like other children his own son will run,play etc.
One day his son participates in a school race and over there amazingly he is able to run and at last he wins the race.The child tells everyone in school that this was all because of his father.So,both father and son love each other.Vijyanti(Shilpa Shetty)a punjabi girl who lives near Sooraj`s house,falls in love with him and she tells him that she wants to marry him.Sooraj tells her that he could not forget his wife,Komal(Karisma Kapoor),with whom he was divorced.In the present time,Komal is always thinking about her son.One day she sees Sooraj with his son and she runs after them.She tells her father(Amrish Puri)about them and her father swears that he would bring her son back. Komal`s father takes Sooraj`s son away but Sooraj gets his son back. The next day,Komal tells Sooraj that they are going to the court where it would be decided,with whom will the child live. After hit films like Dil, Beta...Indra Kumar is back with Rishtey with his favourite actor,Anil Kapoor. His direction is excellent!He is back agin with a STRONG film.Baba Azmi`s cinematography specially in action scenes is superb.Allan Amin`s action is mind_blowing!Sanjeev Darshan`s music is not so good. It is below average but the film itself has given no importance to the songs and I think no one is going to notice the songs,because the film itself is so good.
Ganesh Acharya`s choreography is good. And now the performances!Anil Kapoor has lived the role of a loving father.No actor could have done this role with so much enthusiasm.Karisma Kapoor`s role is similar to her role in Shakti_the power but even then again she is superb.Shilpa Shetty has given one of her best and memorable performance and she`s too funny and she looks gorgeous.Master Jibraan Khan has given an excellent performance and he does not overacts as most child artistes do.Amresh Puri has done what he has been doing since many years but even then he is impressive.Alok Nath has done nothing special.Deepshikha is good in her role. On the whole,Rishtey is an excellent movie!It is a film,not to be missed!
