This is an experience I had about a month back. I currently reside in UAE, and so I have not much idea about the doctors in Kerala.
So there was this big hype about Dr. Indu at Renai Medicity, hence thought, let me approach her for an online consultation.
So I get an online appointment with her on a Thursday. One of the most irritating parts is that they call their patients on WhatsApp and there is no special consideration for intl patients.
I was the one in need, so I informed the hospital, that once my turn for my appointment is on, I will call the doctor.
So after a long wait and confusion, at around 2 at noon, a coordinator from the hospital called me and told me, call on so and so the number in 5 minutes.
As instructed, I called on the number given, and the doctor on the other line says 'yes'? I was like Dr. Indu? She said, no, I'm the junior doctor. Your case has to 1st be consulted with me, then Dr. Indu will consult you. These kinds of treatments are good for face-to-face appointments, or free call appointments not where the patient spends the money to make the call, in spite of paying a consultation fee as well.
However, I explained everything to this junior doctor and she just cut the call without even telling me anything.
Then, after 2 hours from then, the hospital coordinator, WhatsApp and told, me I have to call Dr. Indu after 5 minutes. As instructed, I called the number given.
For almost 3 to 4 minutes, there was no response. Then a voice comes from the other end.
Doctor: Yes, what do you want?
Me: (with a hopeless heart from her question)I explained my case of fibroids to her and told her, that, I have been asked to undergo surgery, hence I have contacted her.
Doctor: So what do you want me to do?
Me: I got so frustrated with that question but I kept my cool and asked her, what is her finding?
Doctor: If you want to do a surgery, we will do it, if you don't want, we will not.
Me: Ok, doctor, could you kindly let me know, whether I have to undergo a laparoscopy surgery or an open one?
Doctor: As you wish
Me: Ok. Do you want to meet me before the surgery?
Doctor: No it's not required, just come on the day of the surgery.
After all these conversations, I obviously dint want to consult her further. For the doctor, it might be a piece of cake, but as a patient instead of guiding me, she was so weird or I don't know what to call it.
After I complained about this doctor to the hospital coordinator, she referred me to Dr. Sindhu, who was nothing different from Dr. Indu.
So, guys, I would never recommend such a hospital where the doctors do not have the time to hear out the patients or help them.
Even if, the doctor is busy, I personally feel every patient should be treated with utmost care.
