~~~ Neither able to swallow nor throw it out~~~. Review on Reliance Mobile Operator

I was a huge fan of this operator till one month ago since Nov 2003 when I first took the Postpaid connection in Agra.

In 2003,October this service was started in Agra.I came on Transfer from a remote place of Assam where Telephone connection used to be a `Luxury`.

In 2003,BSNL was the only operator whose SIM in `black` was costing Rs 800!!.The cheapest mobile set was Nokia 3610 costing Rs 3800.

There was a offer from Relience India Mobile.They gave a Samsung Black and White cute set for a deposit of Rs 500 only.But it was ONLY Postpaid.But that did not bothered me . I had a prized possession now.I needed to call to home every now and then.They offered STD @ Rs 3 and SMS Free.I enjoyed a lot.But the first bill was Rs 2200 hundred!!

I started using it with little restraint but again the bill was Rs 1900.Next month it was Rs 3200!!.

Now it was the limit.I went to the Web world fuming.They offered me to convert it to Prepaid , but I just wanted to do away with it.I paid the amount and came out,having a sigh of relief.

But, what now?

I just purchased the BSNL SIM from one of my colleague who was going on transfer.I purchased a GSM set and started enjoying it.But I faced problem of recharge coupons and even high STD rates and call drops.

I then decided to go for RIM Prepaid.It was nice as the STD rates were the cheapest.Electronic Recharge coupons were available every time I needed it.

Now I came to Chandigarh on Transfer.Till now,I was an `Expert` on pros and cons of every mobile operator , thanks to the my laptop with Broadband.

I found,RIM Tariff most attractive.It had a plan ofRs 1 for 3 minutesand a 1 paise for 1 second or 50 ,paise for 1 minute.They gave full talk time for Rs 200.The Roaming has a flat rate of 50 paise per minute.That`s why I had 3 SIM for each type of Plan!

But,I present before you theReal Dis honesty of RIM.You may take it as a `fine` print.

First,They have `pseudo` signal strength.At level 1 or 2 you will be able to talk continuously without any call drop with any other operator.But this is not the case with RIM.

The Balance knowing procedure is HORRIBLEindeed.While the other CDMA operator TATA Indicom give an immediate SMS message when a call finishes,RIM still lags.You will need to call *225 or *367 or send a BAL SMS to 5367.Tell me in this era of impatience who has this much of time?Even the standard procedure is not yielding result every time!

Here,as the customer is reluctant to find the balance,they deduct some amount in an unfair way.Those who cry foul they are assured to get the problem solved in 15 days!!.

I had one SMS pack active for Rs 11 on my RIM no 9357817067.I deactivated the pack by the standard procedure given by the Customer care.I got the SMS that my pack is Deactivated.But after one month,I got SMS that `Thanks for Renewing the SMS pack` and the money was deducted.

When did the complaint, they said that They now did De activation from their side and for that some token amount was deducted!

But I was happy.But in the next month again, the money was deducted.On complaint ,they simply provided me a new complaint no.The matter is pending ( open state ) for last 17 days!!

The online recharge option does not include State Bank of India!(Net Banking)

I got fed up and dumped the SIM and took Vodafone SIM, thoughRs 150 is still left in the SIM.

I forgot to mentioned the mockery of DO NOT CALL REGISTRY. I got confirmation for it, 6 months ago.I still have been getting promotional call from 9316290685 at all odd times.

Should Inotbe happy that I got rid of Relience India Mobile?
