Reliance Infocomm is the worst mobile phone operator in country which simply denies its customers any right to ask or raise any issue about its recurring inflated wrong billing and very bad customer service.This is regarding my CDMA mobile number 9350777008.
At first, let me make it clear that there has been discrepancy in billing on month after month basis which I had to painfully get corrected. Since I have been using this number for last 6years so I couldn’t change my number. But this time my bill came as a shocker to me, they have charged me for the service which I have not used at all. And even after complaining again and again (by phone and mails) no
action has been taken till now. So I am forced now to raise an awareness among fellow consumers to completely shun the services of this company.
Let me explain: I lost my handset on 5th may ’13 and reported the loss of the
same to my service provider a day after. I got a duplicate simcard issued from Reliance Web World, Preet Vihar, N Delhi on 10th of may, ’13 which got activated on 13th may, ’13. I put that
simcard in a basic CDMA handset borrowed from my friend (Huawei C2206, S/N:
PJ4CAA1911414967).
After my number got activated, I went out of station into roaming. After 4-5 days I got a message on
my phone saying that my usage was high and I needed to pay a certain amount to continue my services. After a day or so all my o/g as well as incoming even incoming messages were stopped. To my horror, On 19th of may ’13 my phone had become brick no phones as well as messages. I should remind you here that, since I was using a basic handset so any data usage was out of question.
I managed to call the customer care when I got back to Delhi (home circle), only to get a shocking reply that there was high data usage of more than Rs 2200/- on my number that’s why all my services has been barred. When asked about the details about that they told me that the details can only be provided after bill would be generated. So I had to wait until 9th of next month for any detail and meanwhile my all outgoing was barred completely.
Anyway after the bill got generated, after so many calls I got the details of all the data usage (see attachment). To my peak of horror, what I find that there was data usage of 1090 MB used in 4-5 days flat used between 15th to 20th may ’13. The pattern of data usage is like it has been used every hour continuously. My biggest question is how can I use a single byte of data on the phone model above mentioned, that only supports phone calls and messages. I was in roaming entire time at my home town due to some emergency at my home, and how can I use more than 1 GB of data with above mentioned handset in flat 4 days.
I tried to contact with Reliance Customer care with the following questions:
1) What was the IMEI No. of the handset on which the data was used?
2) Also provide the MAC ID of the device on which the above mentioned data was used.
3) To check what was the IP Address and location of the device on which the data was used.
Still their response is awaited. I strongly suspect that somebody from the company itself is using my number to use data services. I should mention here is that Reliance has been been sending me inflated
wrong bills always, for example, In the bill of Feb ’13 a excess data charges of Rs.1250.80/- was charged which after so many complaints and mail got corrected in march ’13 bill. (please see enclosed feb ’13 and march ’13 bills) In the bill of March ’13 again there was a mistake Excess charging of Rs.345.06/- for which I again had to make so many calls to cust. care to get it corrected in next months bill. I have written to Reliance in the past also, about this discrepancies, now it seems that I have been targeted to harass by sending me excessive billing month after month.
Meanwhile, all my services remain barred since 19th of May ’13 and I am forced to use other mobile number for all my communication..
