Prepaid order not delivered. False tracking number provided. False reasons provide for not delivering the product. Withholding & delaying refund.


Here is the summary -


23rd Jan 2022 - Order placed through Reliance Digital website. Prepaid order# RDF26042550 for two products -(1) Sony WF-1000XM4 True Wireless Earbuds with Noise Cancellation, Black and(2) BPL 0.5 Watts Yellow Deco Bulb, BD01RG0A-Y. Selling price of the Sony Earbuds is INR 19, 900 and BPL Bulb is INR 59. After applying discount code and bank discount, Total amount paid by Credit Card is INR 16, 064. Purchased against 3 EMI with 13% interest.


26th Jan 2022 - As per Reliance website, the Sony headphone was scheduled to be delivered on this date. Stays showed shipped, Arriving on 26th Jan,

Tracking No: 1354316678744.


Since there was no delivery SMS or email, I checked the tracking no. Here is what is got the 1st surprise, the delivery number is not recognised on the Carrier website, here is the exact msg 'COULD NOT FIND THIS ORDER WITH US. PLEASE CHECK THE WAYBILL/ORDER ID ENTERED’.


26th Jan 2022 - Alarmed by a false tracking number, I contact Reliance customer service to provide an update. Also contacted Carrier to check the tracking number, Carrier company confirmed they are unable to track either.


27th Jan 2022 - Got a response from Reliance Digital that the order is delivered. They provided status for a previous order which was delivered on Jan 18th 2022. I asked them to check again. From here onwards the standard msg that I have got is that they are checking. No real status was provided.


27th Jan 2022 - Contacted Reliance Digital Escalation team - cshead.reliancedigital@ril.com & BM.Bade@ril.com. Also escalated through Tweeter. Got response through Tweeter that they are checking with concerned team.


28th Jan 2022 - Complaint no DR01560150 provided by reliancedigital@ril.com, Escalation support team. No real updated, requested to wait for 24 to 48 hrs.


30th Jan 2022 - Received 2nd surprise, email from reliancedigital@ril.com updating me that order cannot be delivered due to Non-Serviceable Zone. Hence return mark up has been done from Reliance, As soon as your shipment reaches warehouse your refund will be initiated and the refund for the order will be reflected within 7-10 days in the same mode of payment.


30th Jan 2022 - Challenged Reliance Digital customer service to provide a valid tracking number and carrier name. They never responded to my email. I know this is false because my zip code 560076 at Bangalore has no delivery restriction, I live in an apartment where we get online order deliveries throughout the day. Plus on the same day, I got the delivery of my 2nd product, BPL Bulb. So how is it possible that the product I am chasing is only undeliverable?


31st Jan 2022 - Got a response from BM.Bade@ril.com, this person is CEO of reliance digital and 2nd level escalation as per their website. Requested to wait as this matter has been escalated to the concerned department. 2nd complaint number COM01568958 was provided.


So far no credible information has been provided such as a valid tracking number. So my assumption is that Reliance Digital is withholding information intentionally. This is prepaid order. My money is at risk, plus bank will charge interest, Loan fees, GST etc if the amount is not refunded before my billing cycle. There is almost 20 back and for the email, multiple tweets, I have wasted enough time and taken stress to the extent that I didn’t get sleep at Night.


I wanted to experience the Sony XM4 Headphone which is a popular product, and use it for professional work but Reliance Digital turned this customer experience into hell. I want Reliance Digit to be accountable for this misconduct and bad business practice. Willing to consider pressing legal charges in consumer court.


Please help to resolve and stop Reliance Digital from exploiting customers blatantly.
