RHTDM or MINNALE original in Tamil( which was released in 2000) is a movie directed by a relatively newcomer by the name of Gautham Menon. As his present track record suggests, he has gone on to do great things and has proven to be a versatile director.
This movie was his debut venture in Hindi and basically a remake of the tamil version. The music of the movie was done by Harris Jayaraj, a relative newcomer in the south as well.Harris had a similar impact as A.R. Rahman. with this debut work.
The music is a major plus point in inspired by the likes of a long time veteran composer AR Rahman but presented a more fresh futuristic feel that characterized the early 2000s decades.
Though the songs of the Tamil version, Minnale was a huge hit, the songs of Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein are indeed better and still retaining the original flavour.Cinematography and editing of the film and song scenes(except Zara Zara)is loose and this is where the Tamil version wins hands down. Dialogues are just okay.
THERE ARE ONE OR 2 NEW BACKGROUNG SCORES in the movie which The tamil one lacks.
Though RHTDM has its flaws compared to the tamil version, it gets the feel of the original across in Hindi in 2002 unlike any others at that time.
Probably if u had watched the original, u will more poised to notice these flaws but nevertheless as a stand alone, RHTDM is a decent effort and a tribute to that strange feelings of TRIALS AND REVELEATIONS which everyone goes thru called LOVE.
