As I always would go on to Mouthshut.com and read reviews written by loads of different people. I’d either read a totally awesome review which made total sense…or a review which I don’t think I can even try calling a review! So one day while I was about to go on Mouthshut….and clicked on the link to a Garam Masala movie review, my mother called me for some help:
Mom: ''Anusha!! Come down and help me make breakfast for your sisters…don’t make me repeat 3 times.''
With a smile I went and started making breakfast for my two sisters who usually take an hour to say what they’d like to eat. So…as I had finished making breakfast for them I went back to my room and sat down whilst I was about to read the garam masala review…my dad called me! With an impatient look I once again left my room to help my dad.
Dad:''Anusha…I have to go to work, can you and your friend go and pick up a guest from the airport?''
My answer…heh! What do you think? Of course it was yes! So I called up my friend (who knows how to drive) and went to pick up a guest at the airport…as I starting getting more impatient and making my impatience worse, the flight was delayed for an hour later! So an hour past and I finally picked up the guest…ran to my room and right before I sat..my sister was calling me! What was my answer to whichever question she asked? It was NO! So I then sat down on my chair and as I just started to read the garam masala review…it was only one small paragraph and rated it somewhat useful! :(

Some people take readings as a total waste of time whilst others devote their time to reading rather than just wasting their time thinking of how reading is such a hopeless waste of time! I on the other hand happen to read a lot. Not only school books or novels or any other books to do with many general subjects. I read on one of my favorite sites, Mouthshut.com. Heh..no wonder I’ve become such a computer addict and give a lot of trouble to my parents! Though reading reviews on this site has practically changed my lifestyle from watching television to being on MS.
I have had 8 months of experience reading reviews on this site, I have been able to learn a lot more about reviews rather than the ones I was never interested in even writing or reading in school! By reading a review you are able to find out about this person who has written this review’s attitude and you are also able to know the likes and dislikes of many people. I have also RRCed many reviews on this site which are just so attractive to my thoughts after reading the review. Most people even read reviews on such topics which they’d never think of reading on and getting to know about from some other persons point of view.
The majority of reviews read….
would have to be the members who are well known on the site and are popular for the way they write their reviews. Some people trust other members so much that whenever that person writes a review…the other member is always ready to read it. There way of writing may be so good that other members just enjoy reading their reviews and are being well entertained as well…
The topic that the writer creates…
can either be so interesting and unexpected from a certain member whilst another topic can just be so common and boring and some people are just tired of reading on them as well. Most people write on topics similar to their own experiences a while back or even their own thoughts which are always kept in their minds. Members also like to read on topics to do with general things to do with Mouthshut because most people are so interested in the site that even though they read so many reviews on the same topic..they still want to be reminded about the general things about MS and are just so interested in the site as well. Everyone has a story to tell…so why not entertain people with topics related to their experiences and their everyday thoughts! Though that still doesn’t mean that everyone must stop being their normal and kewl (lame :P…joking) selves whilst they think that they are just completely uncool and try and make a totally new personality out of themselves!
The title of a review…
is always suppose to be based on the topic that the writer chooses to write on. If it isn’t related to the topic then the sense of humor of the writer needs catching up…well no one take offense but I was always told “before you say think” but coming to the Mouthshut motto…”before you write think”. Once you have gave a sensible title to your review other members have no other choice but to read that whole review because it is just so interesting you just want to read the review!
Now it isn’t appropriate to usually get all upset if your thoughts and opinions do not match with the reader. If the review makes sense and is well detailed you usually give it a high rating but if the review makes no sense to you….you have the full right to justify what ever rating you have given but there should be no sign of abusive language to offend the writer as if they have done something horrible and make them feel low. Give your thoughts out but in a polite way. Something like- “Your review was very detailed though I’m sorry I don’t agree with your thoughts on bla bla bla…” whatever the subject is all about.
As I mentioned before about famous members getting more RRC’s on their reviews, it still does not apply to all of us that we must only the writers who are popular and make the others feel left out! You want the whole MS to go andhera or what?!?! No way! Then there is no such thing as calling MS a community. People spend their time in writing reviews for all of us to be entertained throughout our day and we must respect that, and read, rate and comment on them.
In my thoughts…the members who write very good and detailed reviews which entertain people…the Mouthshut population is coming up! I am very thankful to those who take out a lot of time in reading other peoples reviews and are actually learning more and gaining the knowledge to take on many different challenges as well as talents which one would never thought they had in them.
So if you must praise then do it nicely! (well duh!). If you must also criticize then do It nicely! :P. While reading a review it’s always nice to leave a thoughtful rating with a justifiable comment as well so that the writer can feel a little appreciated on such a kewl and wonderful site which you might only find on the internet. I just hope you all do the same for me. :) Though I know that this review has certainly come to no use to you people. :(
