I watched it when it was released somewhere in 1995. And my only interest was the hero of the movie. I was eager to see the son of great amjad khan. After the movie, my first reaction was that movie is a crap, girl is beautiful but her voice is not good and she's bulky. And if shadaab khan can act then so can I. That's the way I explained it to my friends at that time.
Lets move on with the details.
The Movie itself: Well talking about the producer salim, I don't know why but the theme in most of his movies is rape, all of them masala movies and never a watch with family types. Pick izzat, jigar, raja ki aayegi barat or even mehndi (rani again). In all of them the story (read nostory) revolves around rape.
The director is one from this production house only and he should only be given credit for chosing rani as the heroine and nothing else at all. the storyline is very weak and the plot is very unrealistic. Acting wise except gulshan grover everyone else was not able to act and syed zafri actually over acted.
Believe me if u compare rani's acting at that time and now (black), u'll know the novice-expert difference . Music is simply forgettable. Dialogues are cheap and sometimes double meaning also. Camerawork, technology etc was just ok sorts. There's not a single thing that I shud write for which you should go to the movie.
The cast: I was there in the theatre for mr. shadaab and he's not even good for serials. No looks, poor voice and no acting talent with a very poor dialogue delivery. Rani, to be frank I actually forgot rani's name a few weeks after the movie. The only thing I remember was that the girl was beautiful but won't go long becoz her voice is not good and even her acting lacks the touch which should be there for the long run. Gulshan grover did justice to whatever his share of work was. Rest all I don't even want to discuss about.
Story n Dialogues: very weak and poorly developed plot with cheap (projected as bold) and double meaning dialogues. Very very unrealistic story in all with lot of twists and turns and totally unacceptable end. The basic theme was for good but all in vain the way script writer moulded it into a nostory for the director who actually filmed it into the painful vision for all of us.
conclusion: don't go for it instead go and shop with the money. If you are a big rani fan then I tell you that she's the backbone of the movie but this movie itself has no life. Beggars are not choosers, this is true for most of them stuggling to get in to the bollywood. Rani was also a victim of this and thats why she was there in it...........
