‘RAAZ PICHHLE JANAM KA’

NDTV Imagine’s much hyped serial RAAZ PICHHLE JANAM KA(RPJK) has started finally. It’s very early to talk about its success or failure. But it will certainly get good viewership. The reason behind it is ‘the human psychology.  People are really very curious about knowing about their past lives. I have seen my friends taking tests related to ‘Know who you were in your past life’ on face book. Interesting right?

Whether you believe in past life or not is not a question? The question is whether you are curious to know about it? If you find it convincing you can trust or leave it, it’s your call. But somehow everyone is curious to know in those things which they strongly disbelieve.

RPJK succeeded in making people at least talk about it, buzz has been already created. And guest celebrities like Shekhar Suman are invited to participate in it. That itself suggest that NDTV Imagine is already totally convinced about the success of this concept.

Somehow this serial does not become viewable as there is nothing to see as such. Dramatization of past life is done by many news channels, discovery channel etc. Documentaries of past life experiences are more interesting than watching RPJK’s dramatizations which are very ‘FILMY’. Doctor Mam instructs participant to go back to his/her past life using some technique(hypnotism or something). And then the participant starts talking as if he has kept on ‘NARCO TEST’. The psychoanalysis part shown in serial is completely laugh riot. If it is that easy to reach in your past life then perhaps Prof. Dr. Sigmund Freud wasted his entire life on his works on psychoanalysis, interpretations of dreams, unconscious mind and other works.

If it neither provides authenticity nor even has any entertainment value, then why to watch it? Only reason to watch it is the stories which they saw. Past life stories are quite interesting in RPJK. The sailor who died in plane crash which accompanied Dr. Homi Bhabha and the backward class labor who was killed by mob for stealing food etc. both stories were quite interesting. It shows creativity of writer.

Finally RPJK has nothing to offer to its viewer. If you think that this serial is increasing superstitions and should be banned. Then I must say that you have not seen other serials like ‘Kaal, Kapaal, Mahakaal’ etc which were shown on  one of the big news channel. RPJK is quite tolerable as compared to these ‘KALA JAADU’ kinds of serials.

Watch it if you have plenty of time to ‘waste’.
