Qutub Minar is situated in Qutub complex of Meharauli, Delhi. It is well connected and it is easy to reach there. Qutub minar is a UNESCO world heritage site, its construction was started by Qutub ud din Aibak, the founder of Delhi sultanate but he could complete just the first storey of the minaret, later on his successor iltutamis added three storeys to the minaret and the last fifth pillar was added by Firoz shah tughlaq. Qutub minar has round stairs inside and verses from the holy book Quran is entrenched on the outside wall. Qutub minar was constructed with red stone.

The grand entrance gate is known as Alai Darwaza which was constructed by Ala ud din khalji. Qutub complex contains many remains of historical importance like alai darwaza, iron pillar which is a wonder of science, quwwat ul Islam mosque and tomb of iltutamis.

It is said that if you can make your both hands meet around the iron pillar your wishes will be come true. It reveals the properous history of India and it is heaven for historians.
