Help & Support:

I bought a Prestige Induction cooktop for my mother on Independence Day as her Philips Induction Cooktop was not working anymore. She was delighted to receive an Indian made cooktop and made use of the cooktop very frequently.

The cooktop itself is a very useful machine. It does not consume much energy, saves time and cooks perfectly. The entire glass top and the touch buttons operate very smoothly.

But 2 months after the purchase, the induction cooktop started displaying error code E3. According to the owner's manual it stands for protection against high voltage. Upon checking the voltage using a multimeter, I realized that my supply was receiving a voltage of 252 volts. The cooktop does not even operate at a voltage of 235 volts. So much so that we have spent days cooking on standard LPG gas while the cooktop was lying uselessly.

I got hold of the sales manager of Ghaziabad and he was polite enough to arrange a technician's visit. The technician also concluded that we were receiving minimally high voltage.

In the end I had to buy a Rupees 2000/- worth voltage stabilizer in order to stabilize the voltage being supplied to the cooktop. The cooktop has obviously been working fine after using the stabilizer along with it.

So, all in all, this low voltage tolerance cooktop costed me around Rupees 4500/- which is way too high for an induction cooktop.

Also, their Ghaziabad customer centre is horrible. They have kept an operator who does not know simple spellings and can simply not understand simple Hindi.
