Help & Support:

I bought a Prestige Hero mixer grinder two years ago. Since then, its motor has never given any problem. But its jars are junks. Power: Quite powerful. It has 500Watt motor. Whenever you buy a mixer make sure that it is at least above 450 Watt. More wattage definitely consumes more power, but the time it takes to grinding is very less and efficient. You will get a very smooth paste/powder of the food items quickly. Less powered motors do give fine grinding, but at a stretch you cannot put lots of food in the jar. You need to put little by little and each turn would be time consuming.

Durability:

The motor and the mixer's body plastic are of good quality. I clean it after 2-3 months and still it gets back it glossy white finish. Jar quality: Steel: very poor. Never expected this quality from prestige which manufactures many steel products. The steel of my jar cracked on its own. Never knew when. I never dropped it or hammered it. Lids: Poor design. The lids do not come with safety clips. Many times while operating, the lids have flung open spilling all the food contents messing the kitchen. Blades: Good at grinding. No problems Jar base & jar spindle: Highly problematic. If you don't use your jar for about 4 days, the spindle is jammed. It is so much hard that even the motor is unable to rotate it. I need to always get it free through local mechanic once in a month. No exaggeration, but truth. Sound: Quite loud at the highest speed.

Any safety device?: One big red indicator that keeps lighted until the plugged is pulled out of the socket. But of what use if the most dangerous jars are flung open while operation? My advice: No. Never buy a prestige. Go for better brands like Singer (good in all respect). We have a singer at home. It is 5 years old. Not only the motor is smooth, but the jar quality (glossy steel, good blades, lids with clips) are very good. Bye Bye
