Want to have a village like feeling while you gorge on some healthy vegetarian south Indian dishes? Then this place in Adyar is where you should be. It is not very far from Sri Ananthapathmanabha Temple in Kasturba Nagar.
This was my third visit to this place and oh boy wasn't I impressed, the last two times I was not in a mood to spend too much time and ended up eating sada dosas. This time I decided to give a few things a try as I was with a large group.
Ambiance - There is not much to speak of here, it is a very simple place, spotlessly clean set up, in fact given the cost of dining here I think they have done much better than expected.
Service - Top notch, the waiters and the staff were extremely friendly and their suggestions are worth taking. If you are not used to the various millet rice varieties or saadams as they are known you should perhaps get an expert opinion or settle for Thayir(curd) saadam.
The Food - We tried the different meals available, please do not take the mini meal if you have a good apetite, I found it awfully less in quantity, but anyways they were all very tasty and healthy. Apart from that they also have various rotis including bajra anf jowar which was news to me in Chennai. The price was way less than expected and we wound up paying 800 for a group of 6 which considering the quality of food was a steal.
