One of the most unprofessional Packers & Movers. I booked them for intercity shifting of my household goods. They came at around 10 am on the scheduled date and here follows what happened next –
- After their arrival, I realized that Porter is not doing the job directly. They have forwarded my order to some local packers agency.
- Five guys took about 6hrs(10am to 4pm) to finish the packing of 2.5bhk items.
- Quality of packing was pathetic. For of items, it was I, who was guiding them how to do the packing. They were not capable to do proper bubble wrapping also. For most of the bags, the wrapping tore off by the time it was getting loaded in the truck
- No packing list was prepared. All the packing boxes were used multiple times already. They didn’t have sufficient packing material also. They ran out of bubble wrap also in between.
- They brought an open medium truck and one small truck(chhota haati). Luckily it didn’t rain that day, else my items would have damaged.
- After reaching the destination, the truck driver came to me asking for his payment. I clearly told that I will do the payment only to Porter, through their app. He didn’t argue anymore, but simply denied to vacate the premises of the society unless his payment is cleared. The society security guard kept on pressing me due to lack of parking space for other vehicle. Also, because of the small truck was not able to enter the society premises. It went on for about an hour. Then the local packers(who is assigned by Porters), paid the truck driver. Then the small truck could enter and rest of the materials were unloaded.
- After 1.5hr, they started shifting the materials to my new flat. By then it was 7 pm already.
- Finally everything got over at night 10 pm. There was a break of about 30min in between, as the society lift was not usable.
Due to nature of work, I have transferred multiple times in my career. I have always done through Aggarwal and never faced any hassle. The only reason I went for Porter, because they ensured to do dismantling and re-assembling of my one hydraulic bed and 2 other beds. Aggarwal does not provide this facility. The funny part is, after reaching the destination, the packers people called some local carpenter to assemble the beds. The carpenter told me that he will fix the beds, but after that if his payment is not cleared immediately, then he will dismantle everything.
