I wish amullette's review on PlanetM had come a few days earlier.
I have very similar experiences with PlanetM, within indiatimes.com.
First incidence relates to my order in the month of July 2002. Ganapati festival nearing, I decided to order few cassettes / CDs from PlanetM. I was certainly impresses by the site, details given there etc. After placing the order confirmation mail confirmed what is stated on the site... shipping will be done within 5/7 days. Since I stay in Mumbai, I was expecting cassettes to arrive soon. However, after a month Ganapatis came and went, but cassettes were still coming by ship (I do not know which shipping service brings cassettes to Vileparle!). Hence, I cancelled the order.
Good thing was that the order was cancelled promptly without any fuss. This some what impressed me. But......
In the month of January 2003, I again placed an order for 5 cassettes and made advance payment. This time cassettes arrived in exactly 5/7 days. But......
When I opened the courier, there were 3 cassettes instead of 5. I informed PlanetM immediately, with a wish that 2 more will arrive shortly. When I did not receive any in another week. I sent a complaint.
Both times Confirmation Mail arrived very promptly. But cassettes? No way!
What is most shocking is that the box contained a piece of packing material placed in way that the box appeared to contain more than 3 cassettes.
Some points to be noted are:
1> As far as possible stay away from PlanetM. If you cannot....
2> Do not make advance payment. Always prefer ''Cash on Delivery'' option.
3> Do not go by size of courier box you receive. Open the courier box before giving acknowledgement.
4> Be prepared to loose you money.
I hope all at MS learn their lesson.
Unfortunately, MS does not allow me to give rating less than 1-star.
