Finally a true blue hollywood movie after a long time. Of late hollywood had been as short of ideas as our bollywood is eternally. It was looking everywhere for inspiration from old movies, Marvel Comics, Children's literature, Mythological literature etc. Most of the decent movies of late belong to these categories and usually are 2 hours+ in running time. That's not something one associates with hollywood. Hollywood was known for its new ideas, crisp presentation and no wastage of viewers precious time. So I was pleasently surprised when I watched this movie. An edge of the set thriller with a novel idea with running time of less than 70 minutes. That's what I liked about hollywood.

The film is about a Press agent played by Colin Farell who's in dirty world of show buisness. He is one of those'do whatever it takes' kind of man, who's flirting with a wannbe actress. He usually calls her from a phone booth, coz cell phone bills would make her wife suspicious. So one day he enters the booth to call her but instead he gets a call from a man(Voice of Kiefer Sutherland) who thretens to shoot him if he hags up or steps out of booth. So starts the worst day in our hero's life. What happens next keeps you hooked booked & cooked so much so that you won't want to leave your seats if for a nature's call.

Colin Farell(Recently seen in Recruit & Daredevil) gives a brilliant performance in a role of his lifetime. He finally makes thr grade for plum roles in major projects. The other cast members have not much to do as the film starts and ends in a phone booth. Though the voice of Kiefer Sutherland surely makes you shiver. He does a wonderful job.

Director Joel Shumacher keeps his end by not wavering from the main plot too much. But the best part of the film is its slick editing. The film's pace literally leaves you breathless. Another highlight is the screanplay always keeps you guessing. The film is not predictable. The unpredictability with taught editing ensure that you don't have a dull momemnt. No big stars, No big special effects, no big musical just a brilliant execution of a novel idea wasn't this the main USP of hollywood. And with one hour running time you don't have to plan it. A must see for every movie buff.If you don't watch english movies this will be a nice start. Don't miss it for your life.
