I had purchased a philips lcd 32" HDR tv from aalap electronics ahmedabad. the staff there was very polite and helpful, 2 days after the tv was delivered a person came to see the tv and wrote something on some documents and asked us if any thing was wrong with it till now I told him that during delivery we had recieved a broken remote which we asked him to replace(i havent recieved the remote till date) and asked him to send someone to wall mount it. the person came the very next day and wall mounted it, after about 40 days we called the customer care again since there was a signal interference between the tv remote and tatasky remote which caused the tv to go off as soon as the guide button of tata sky remote was pressed. the person came and did some software upgrade and then the tv was working fine but the happiness was short lived me and my family had gone out for navratri and when we came back and switched on the tv we found that the lcd had cracked and the whole tv had become super hot( this happened the same day that the person did the software upgrade) I immediately sms'ed Philips since it was dussehra no one could come the day after dusshera a person came and took some photos of the TV and accused us of reckless use and dropping the tv. But when we asked him whether he could spot a scratch or crack or any sign of external damage he could not answer us now why is that?
After he went we did not get any response from Philips no one cared about us all the politeness had as though vanished we did not get any reply till 7-8 days. after a lot of persuasion and threatening we got the service manager Mr. Pankaj's number from the local service centre and upon contacting him we found out that the complaint had been regd only when I had called the customer care the previos day and the person who had come to visit us and take photos was not of PHILIPS but was of aalap electronics and after that conversation no one ever visited us and when we contacted the service manger he told us that the TV will have to be replaced since the LCD has cracked and it is not company fault but has happened due to reckless use how did he know that without visiting us on calling a local non philips person hust by seeing and not openeing the TV he said that it has happened due to manufacturing defect and high amount of heat and the person worked in a bpl TV assembly factory earlier and has atleast some experience. The service manager offered us a 25% discount on the purchase of any new philips TV which meant that we had lost all our money of the previous 32" we decided to not go for philips any more and the very next day went and purchased a sony TV and home theatre and have decided to put a case in consumer court by the end of diwali. I strongly suggest to not go for philips products or atleast tv's
