The Partner is Grisham's best novel till date.Its the story of Patrick Lanigan who cheats his lawyer firm and one of their client for a total of 90 million US dollars after faking his own death.The insurance companies,his firm and the client get together and vow to find him whatever the cost.After 4 years and 3 million dollars later they catch him in Brazil.
On being found, Patrick faces loads of lawsuits
1.By the Client whom he cheated
2.By the firm of which he was a partner
3.By his Life Insurance Company which paid his insurance to his wife and sues them both
4.By his wife of divorce
5.By the firm's insurance company who paid the client
6.By FBI of killing the person whose body remains were found in his burnt car
Patrick faced millions of dollars worth lawsuits and a jail sentence for life or death penalty.Can he weave his way out of this one ?
The Partner is a story of two partnerships.One between Patrick and his law firm and Second between Patrick and a lawyer from Brazil whom he trusts.By the time the story ends,you fall in love with Patrick's character but the story ends with a twist which is best left to the novel
