I with my family members visited Srinagar and Pahalgam about three years back in October. Pahalgam is about 90 km east of Srinagar. It is considered as Switzerland of India. This place is also known for its film shooting attractions. Recently, scene of film Bajrangi Bhaijan has been shooted here. It falls on   famous Amarnath Yatra route.

Vast green meadows in the lap the high mountains of Himalayas, surrounded with tall pine and chinar forest are great attraction in Pahalgam, which will fill you with excitement. It is about 3 km from the taxi stand. Pony owner will chase you for ride on their pony. They demand Rs. 800/- but a little bargain may set at Rs. 500/-. You may be a little afraid of the curvy and sloppy path on which the pony carry you but ponies are trained enough to walk on such terrains safely. So you need not worry. You can also trek this which will take about one hour. We roll in the field through a big transparent balloon and enjoy a lot. Hotel and tourist hut of J&K Govt are available for stay.

On the way from Srinagar to Pahalgam, we saw Kesar(Saffron) Fields and plants, chest nut tree and also visited Apple Orchards. We also purchase packs of apple while returning. Whole trek is highly enjoyable. This is a nice hill station to visit.   It is impossible to explain the excitement in words. This can be realized only on visiting this place.
