First of all, I would like to highlight that I booked the room seeing the pictures and rating. I made the booking by paying the amount 2875(after coupons discounts etc, mind it the original price showing on OYO was around 7k I think) before checking in. I called the hotel and confirmed that I would be arriving by 1 pm.


Upon arrival, since I has a lot of luggage I requested them to bring that and they were very courteous and did it. When I entered, I was surprised to see the main entrance, lobby area and reception. It did not resemble the pictures and looked a little shady. Also, Hotel is hard to find by the name President as the Board reads the Black. (for the club there it seems).


I was asked to check the room by the receptionist who is a decent polite guy because he knew the standards of the room weren't up to par. Upon entering I felt weird because the place did not feel like a typical hotel at all. Being a solo girl traveling I felt even weirder.


Upon seeing the room I was shocked, the room did not match the pictures at all. It's nowhere close to a room booked for the amount around 3000. I have had a hard day, I had a lot of luggage. And I was expecting to get in the bed take a long warm shower, But I just could not just stand there.


For about an hour I tried talking to the receptionist/manager(don't know the exact designation), I tried talking to chat support. I waited in the lobby for a long time hoping chat support would do something about the issue. I highlighted how the room was not up to standards. How it's different from pictures, that the room is not worth anything 1000., nothing was done. Nothing. Feeling helpless I checked in because I was tired and I have a lot of luggage, plus if I have already paid the amount and nobody is doing anything, I lost all that money I have spent for nothing.


Upon entering the washroom, I felt the saddest, sad enough that I am crying while writing this. First, there was no geyser, I thought there must be something internal. I tried opening the shower, and the whole water just dispersed onto me and other areas. I wish I could explain this but the water didn't come in the order it should, it just splashed elsewhere, I got soaked, in winter by chilled water. I asked the hotel and they said there's no geyser and they can arrange a bucket of warm water. I have been waiting for that bucket of hot water and glasses while I write this. I had to get the bathroom cleaned again because there were hairs in the drain, the tub and toilet seat were dirty.


Then I finally sat down on my bed, and Oh my God, I could feel the springs on my back, the mattress is horrible, I don't know what they are made of, but I can tell this experience is not what I paid for. It's been 20 mins just as I write this and my back hurts.


Also, there's a club nearby, and I can feel the beats of all songs playing in my room, people shouting, beats thumping through the wall, songs playing, me knowing the lyrics to all when I just want to rest for a while.


I am so surprised that in a time when all these brands are focused towards branding what's compromised. Nothing was done about what I was dealing with. I ultimately had to check in coz I found myself helpless and the money was paid for. Also, I travel a lot, I stay in hotels almost every month and this is the worst of my experiences. I am not saying the staff is to blame, they are doing their job. But honest reviews, prices and pictures should be shared.


I saw pictures and booked in a hurry hoping that 3k for a room and it mentioned a deluxe room, I assure you there is nothing close to deluxe about this room. I would not in my sane mind would pay more than 500 for this.


I went out of the room and contacted OYO support again. I was out on the road for two hours and talked to two support people,


Just to inform, after sharing everything, she had asked me if I would want to an OYO which was actually a one-star place, and I mentioned that the conditions that were already there and that I have paid 2900 for that one, and I'd like a decent room. After a while, my call was hung up. I connected to another agent and she also hung up after listening for a while.


Please note: I raised my concerns with details and examples, I had explained my situation a hundred times to different people, yet nothing and absolutely nothing was done. In fact, till today I haven't received a call from OYO that what happened next if the issue is resolved.


If somebody could listen to those calls, and list down the pain points, the grievances, the impact.


After this incident, I decided to find a place to stay, a decent hotel, at 5:30 pm I picked my stuff out saying that I can't stay here and I got myself a nice place to stay at and not an OYO, this time!.
