     The number one problem affecting long hair is breakage, usually seen as shorter, fly-away strands, or split ends. From the moment you wake up to the time you go to sleep and even as you sleep, there are many factors that can lead to hair breakage.


One of the most common causes is poor maintenance - things like improper brushing and washing and infrequent trimming. Lifestyle factors, such as poor nutrition, stress and even restless sleeping can also lead to hair damage.


The problem is that what many women think is good for their hair may actually be hurting it. Through proper care using simple techniques and the right maintenance products, anyone can have long, beautiful, healthy look.


Three main things are needed for a good-looking head of hair - good health, the right attention to cleanliness, and caution when using cosmetic treatments.


1. Adequate Diet


Hair growth depends on an adequate diet. A widespread diet problem which causes loss of hair is iron deficiency Anaemia. The cause is too little iron in blood, brought on by a diet containing too little meat, eggs, cereals or peas and beans. Fresh fruits and vegetables are also needed to provide vitamin C, which enables the body to absorb iron.


2. Cutting the hair


Although cutting the hair is not essential to its well-being, it is easier to keep the scalp clean if the hair is kept reasonably short. Regular cutting does not make the hair grow strong or faster.


3. How hair can be damaged


Although scalp hair is hardy, and can withstand a lot of abuse, it can be damaged by too much or inexpertly applied perming, dyeing, bleaching and massage. The amount of beautying the hair can take varies from person to person. Occasionally the scalp is allergic to the dye and becomes inflamed and swollen. To prevent this occuring, the dye should be tested by applying it to a small area on the arm. If a patch of inflammation has developed, the dye must not be used on the hair.


Most people who bleach their hair do so with hydrogen peroxide. If the peroxide is repeatedly applied, it may make the hair brittle. If this happens the hair may turn rough, develop split ends, or become thinned or shortened.

Dealing with dandruff


. Dandruff arises from an oily, not dry scalp. Use a special-formaulated shampoo to help control the flaking.


. An anti-dandruff shampoo should contain tea tree oil, salicylic acid, sulfur & zinc pyrithione. Use on alternate days.


. Massage your scalp with some table salt to remove dandruff then shampoo.


. Avoid taking foods with preservatives or additives.


Shampooing


-If your hair is dry and brittle, wet hair, then coat with a light conditioner before shampooing. This acts as a buffer and helps protect the hair strand. Then begin shampoo by removing dirt through gentle sudsing. Massage your head to increase the blood supply to the scalp and roots


-always brush ur hair before u wash.the only tangles in ur hair r put there by u, for ex scarves, caps, motorbike rides n so on.if u have tangles b4 u wash then, then there will b more by the time u finish.


-use lots of warm water from above n let the water follow the natural flow of ur hair from top to bottom.


-choose the shampoo based on the looku want n not ur hair type.most important dont choose a shampoo based on  the hair -type u think u have.


-dont get confused by products meant for oily/normal/damaged hair n above all, dont rate ur own hair wrongly.apply the shampoo all over, not just to the top of ur head.




  • the placin a blob just on the top means u have to work hard to spread it all over ur hair, n the more work u put in the more damaged ur hair gets.ur best option-take the shampoo to the hair n not the hair to the shampoo.

-squeez out excess water, never wring or stretch ur hair.


-press or blot out the free water.


-ease the hair apart with ur fingers, starting at the tips, never at the roots., n let them dry


-never pile ur hair!pilin ur hair on the top of ur head=100, 000 ends all rubbed together n cuticles facin in every direction.in a nutshell, lots of tangles n lots of damage.


-comb through gently with a wide tooth comb b4 stylin/ blow dryin.


-blow dry very carefully.start gently n ease the water out of the hair first.

1) Baldness:


boil i1 cup mustard oil with 4 tbs henna leaves.filter n bottle .massage on the bald patches regularly.


-grind fenugreek seeds, with water n apply on the head . leave for at least 40 mins b4 washin.do it every mornin for a month.


2)Dandruff:


soak 2 tbs fenugreek seeds in water overnight .in the mornin grind  into  a fine  paste.apply all over the scalp n leave for half an hor .wash with shikakai or mild shampoo.


-boil a handful of neem leaves in 4 teacups of water .after coolin n filterin use for rinsing hair.


3)Hair fallin:


-take a handfull of neem leaves n boil them in 4 cups of water .after coolin n filterin, use the decoction for rinsing hair.


4)Hair loss


apply a little almond oil on scalp frequently n massage.


5)Hair greying:


wet a lemon half n rub lemon juice into the scalp well.wash after it turns dry


-soak shreaded ginger in honey.eat a spoonfullevery mornin.
