Well, Outbreak was the first Robin Cook that I had read, it is a very similar version of the other novels by Robin Cook, (except Abduction, revued separately).
A big hospital....A bad doc (or some bad docs)....A good doc (theres always just one) something goes wrong. The good doc starts to investigate....catches the bad docs. Happy Ending.
This is simply what happens in EACH AND EVERY Cook novel, I am not critisizing him or anything, I like to read his novels even though they are monotonous. Well, here the doc is a Blumenthal (as far as I remember, I don't remember the full name coz I had read this novel far back) She is a doc at this Boston hospital, working as a trainee when the things start to get wrong. People are being hit by the same kind of disease (in medical terms this is knows as an epidemic) well yeah...there's an epidemic of a very rare disease and the hospital has to be quarantined.
This doc, goes around the place, donning special hospital gowns and examining the charts of the patients who are being hit, until her athourity of doing so is taken away (she is removed from that particular epidemic case) little does she care, she carries on (illegally) and in the end discovers that the disease was being spread deliberately by her own boss and some other people with him.
BIG SURPRISE. Thats just about it.
