If you are thinking of buying there services, please spend 5 mins reading this and thank me later.
I bought there home appliances service plan for an AC and samsung 40 inch LED TV. Though there sales pitch was too good to be true(Free standby unit in case of claim) I went ahead with the purchase.
After a month of purchase my tv stopped working. This is where the harrowing experience starts. You cannot file a claim on their website or app. You have to call them which takes lot of time.
Their service agent came and took the tv away. After 2 days someone calls me from oneassit and tell me
i) That we cant repair/replace the faulty part so as per policy we will reimburse the sum assured of Rs 15000. I said ok go ahead.
ii) Nothing happens for two days. Then someone calls me and says we cant reimburse you 15000 but will only do it if you undertake the repair from us which will cost Rs 40, 000. I was aghast, I said a brand new 40 inch samsung costs around 32000, what kind of nonsense is this. I asked for the exact part name, he replied its just called "Led panel".
iii) I went back to samsung authorized service center and gave them my exact model name and got the cost as Rs 16000 per service charge.
iv) I go back to oneassit guy(Ajay, Regional Manager) and he says that might be grey market or duplicate part. I told him its an authorized center's quote. He says he will come back to me. Its been 4 days but he has stopped picking my call. His number
91-6280716127
v) I start haggling with call center and chat and they just give me two answers - "we have escalated to the concerned team, give us 48 hours"
vi) To be doubly sure I raise a complaint with samsung call center and they assign an engineer to the request. He also confirms that cost of replacement of new panel is Rs 18000 inclusive of taxes and labor charges for 40 inch model I have. I give this request number to oneassit and they say they will raise their own service request again with samsung. Meanwhile they have reduced the estimate to 30, 000 from 40, 000. I ask them whats the basis of their estimate - can they share the exact name of service center where they got it from? They dont have answers and say its in the system and we got verbally.
So here is how this fraud works.
i) They are not an insurance company as they project.
ii) Their sales pitch is fraud - when asked for stand by unit their engineer says I just had one its already installed at a customers place.
iii) During claim their team adds a markup to the repair/part cost and gives you a jacked up estimate.
iv) Their customer support team is as most other brands' support, totally useless.
Do not buy and loose your sleep over dealing with them.
