The Duo of Vishal and Gulzar saab had been my all time favourite. And this is another master piece. These guys understand the Indian culture from its roots. The adaptation from Othello to Omkara was fabulous.
The plot is based upon the theme of deep love and hence the deep belief of loyality amongst the lovers. Vishal(or one can say, shakespere) has projected the dark side of love in this story. A lover(Ajay devgan) is put into that type of misguided scenario that he started believing that there is betrayal in his love from the other side and become suspicious of the character of his partner(kareena kapoor) who was completely innocent but under the long perceptions of triya charitra, it all happened. The end was highly tragic with the groom killing bride in cold blooded manner and then killing himself as well after knowing the truth.
The music of the movie was one of the best I have ever heard, O saathi re being my best. Such tragedy can happen in real life also if some evil element is there in between, just like Saif Ali Khan, which sometimes become inevitable.
In the end, I would say it's a must watch movie to understand life and Indian society in a more broader way.
