Another hit for the Badshah?. Review on Om Shanti Om

They say Amitabh Bachchan is the ultimate megastar.Why, because in 77-78 seven of his movies became silver jubilee hits.All together one may add.Shah Rukh Khan who has been the rage for some one and half decades has not THAT KIND of success.Meaning he has not done seven movies together at any point of time. SRK is more about one spectacular movie at a time.And his films, good or bad are generally super successes.

Take 'Om Shanti Om' for instance.This is a movie about the life of a sixties-seventies actress called Shanti Priya.The character is supposed to be modeled on dreamgirl Hema Malini.Shanti played by Deepika Padukone has a romantic relationship with a junior artiste played ahem by SRK.I think then SRK is killed and is reborn or something.So goes the rumour mills.

I believe in Farah Khan's films and this is only the second story takes backseat.Its the presentation, the 'items' every few minutes(in the words of late Manmohan Desai) that really take prcedence.The now-famous 'Dard-E-Disco' for which SRK became a six-pack hero is a case in point.Whatever it is it promises to be engrossing movie.SRK is at his best, Deepika is pretty & vivacious and Farah Khan is well bindaas perhaps.It shows in her moviemaking.Finally OSO is all ready to take on on November 9, that's tomorrow, the first ever Bollywood film of any Hollywood studio, in this case Sony-Columbia-Tristar.But that as they say is another story!
