A marvellous story. Full of humorous plots and satirical comments. Is it about how to loose 1 million and then plot to get it back. Nope!. It is about justice! The title also suggests it in a way. neither less nor more S.
Surprisingly the story is not about the swindler (as it is in most of the books) but about the swindled. A mathematician, an aristocrat, a doctor and a painter (unlikely heroes) loose their shirt in a stock market rig. And so the story starts and this unlikely team has to recover every penny from the tormentor, without his coming to know that he has lost his money. Does this mean an eye for an eye? Maybe so.
This is probably Archer's best (ok equal to ''Kane and Abel'') where he has not deviated from the central theme. The minor deviations are all well justified. Its a sure treat to read such well written book. Author displays his command over the language by this humorous plot.
The story is very concise but the characters are used to put colors in the storyline where the storyline is lagging. (i could not catch any single lag in story line). The story has its share of all the possible emotions: anger, jealousy, fear, hatred, and above all justice.
I could not keep the book down till I had finished it and I dont regret it. I think this book deserves to be read by every archer fan.
