Friends, I have a Nokia 5130 XpressMusic. I am using it for a bit more than one year. I bought the phone after doing quite a good research on various handset within the same price range and finally selected this one. Till now I am quite satisfied with the phone especially with the music player. Let me put down the plus and minus of the handset here.
PROS:
Looks:The handset has a slim body and all the keys are pretty well placed. Also, the keys are quite durable. I bought a pure black one. The black slim handset looks awesome to me. Due to its slimness it fits easily to your pocket and does not create a bulge in your pant pocket or does not pull your pocket down when you keep it in your shirt pocket.
2MP Camera:The phone comes with a 2MP camera on its back. The camera does its task quite OK. Though it does not take that good picture at night but day time shoots are quite fine. It cannot be termed as a very good camera but can be said as a good camera considering the price range in which the handset is available.
Music Keys:As it is a XpressMusic release, it has dedicated keys to control the music played in the phone. It has three keys i.e Rewind, Play/Pause and Forward. The keys are quite comfortably placed on the right of the screen. Also, the volume control is on the left side of the phone. Over all the keys are quite useful while listening to the music on the go.
Audio Quality:Again as a XpressMusic the phone has a good sound output. The audio output is of good clarity and it is quite soothing to the ear. It reproduces the music quite perfectly. It supports AAC and AAC+. So, you can put in your iPod musics into this phone and listen to it, though AAC musics bought from Apple store will not work in the phone.
Screen Clarity:Phone has a good screen which shows the photos and videos quite clearly. So, the clarity of the screen is quite good considering the price range of the handset. I have loaded some of my RealPlayer downloaded videos into the handset and they come up quite clearly on the phone.(I converted FLV to 3GP to make the videos work in the phone)
Durability and Network Reception:As usual the phone is quite sturdy as other Nokia phones. Even though it is slim still it survives a lot of falls from my hand:D. Network reception is quite good and battery life is also good. Anyway, I don't ever doubt the durability of Nokia hand sets.
CONS:
Slim Body:Though the slim body looks beautiful, I initially kept loosing my control of the phone. It kept coming out of my hand as I was not quite acquainted with the thin body. Sometimes it slipped out of my hand. But thanks to the durable Nokia phone, it has not damaged till now and now I have adjusted my self with its slimness.
Video Quality:The videos taken using the handset are not quite clear. They are bit grainy. Not a good one, if you take a lot of videos using your mobile.
Memory Placement:The memory card is placed inside the back cover of the phone. To replace the card you need to pull out the back cover first and then you will be able to take the card out. It would have been much easier if the card would have been placed in a comfortable position from where it would have been pulled out without the hassle of dealing with the back cover. Anyway, if you are not someone who keep on playing with the card too much, then it is fine for you.
So, over all, my experience with this phone is quite good. And, with the price range that it comes it is a good handset to own.
