Dear friends,
Nokia launched their new 3220 camera phone last october. I bought it last week exchanging my old 1100, which I think the worst phone from nokia(sorry 1100 lovers).
The phone looks smart with its compact size very similar to that of 3105. But the new express-on grip gives it a different look. The key pad is very eazy to use with a gentle touch and it occupies less space. the four way navigation key is very useful to scroll and it will help u a lot in sms text editing. we can assign any no. of shortcuts to these keys. the 1 to 0 digits comprises a single pad as in 1100 which is useful when handling in dusty conditions.
The camera is builtin type with comparitively good resolution. (High-resolution, active matrix color display. Supports up to 65,536 colors within 128 x 128 pixels). We can select different camera modes like 'night vision mode' which helps us to take reasonably good photos even in dim light.
The memory is high and you can save a large no. of 20kb jpeg files in your image directory of 3220. the video option is also good but it is limited to 15seconds. But a maximum of two minute video can take with clear sound if u have enough space. there is no advanced image editor to modify the photos but the zoom option with crop tool is enough I think. Incoming calls can be recorded and saved for an hour! And sure...u can record ur song also..!
The connectivity is also good. The EGPRS (EDGE) & HSCSD provides high-speed data connectivity. General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) for convenient 'always on' browsing. Pop Port and USB connector are also unicque.
The operating system seems to be very fast compared to some other nokia phones. Very nice polyphonic ring tones.
The xpress grips looks too bulky and the flash lights on it is sometimes gives the impression of a toy phone. The wave messaging and the additional cut out add-ons are not so good features.
The OS is comparitively fast and user friendly. It gives u a lot of personal customizable graphic options. Ring tones includes the old midi type polyphonic sounds.
