Hello Readers,
I am sure most of you already have a mobile and there are numerous reviews already posted on this site on most the mobiles. However, I am still tempted to write my own on this cute little phone.
Looks
I said cute...to me cute is something which looks good. This phone actually looks ''official'' with a very good design (no sporty stuff or plastic material) and that is one of the reasons for which I choose this one. Another important thing to note here is the inside unit is very similar to the one found in Nokia 3100, so, the only difference you can expect is the way it looks.
Functionality
Well, what to expect from a mobile phone? Mobility, make and receive calls, set reminders, a calendar, an alarm clock, play games, send/receive SMS, MMS, a speaker phone, ease of connectivity to a PC, great reception, large enough address book, ability to attach a picture to a phone number, profile preference to alter phone settings based on where you are, calculator, stop watch, WAP, GPRS, a color screen, a ring tone thats loud enough to hear in a traffic, still sounds good (poly phonic) and a very good battery life. Huh...are these too much in a basic phone? It might sound a lot, but they are the basics based on today's generation. And the catch is, all the above functions are available in this phone
What's not there?
We have seen a long list of things that can be expected from this phone. Now, its time to look at what's not there. So, if you are so particular about things like: FM Radio, Ability to Add/Remove memory cards, MP3 player, Camera, Sync with latest Microsoft applications, Voice recorder, Movie recorder and hi-fi things like these, then this phone will not suit your requirements
Is it worth considering this phone?
Let me tell you my experiences with other phone that I had for an year, Siemens C55. Thought its a great phone, but too bad it got dead thrice in an year and I had to exchange that one with this one. Been using this for almost 6 months and so far, it never failed my expectations. The battery life is superb, so as the call clarity.
I have seen people using latest phones with cool applications and utilities, but I never saw them using those things more than once or twice an year. So, friends, if you want a basic phone that is good enough for a day to day use and don't want to spend too much money on things that fade away fast and you are one of those who think you are un-necessarily paying too much for features that you rarely use and if you are one of those who think the value of your phone is becoming less than half in an year...then this phone fits your bill...!!
Are there any cons with this phone?
Yes, but not noticeable. There is an alarm in this phone, which works great, but there is no feature available to make it repeatable (like every day at 6). You have to get around this by using a Calendar reminder that repeats(some one suggested this, but I never tried). Keypad looks stylish, but those who sends too many messages in a day might feel its not just right for SMS purpose. JAVA games sometimes refuse to start OR take a lot of time to start...but all these are minor glitches that can be forgiven for a phone at this price.
