Yup thats right, thats what my friends called it when they first saw it... Im a sucker for flip phones, and I had just lost my previous phone, saw this in the shop, and instantly bought it, for about 5400.A nice flip phone, the diamond pattern on top may not be to everyone's liking. The software of the phone is similar to other nokia S40 series phones like the 3120, and the 6610.The phone when being used by someone, or when closed is a different looker altogether, but when opened, gives away a lot.
Firstly the flip design is not too robust, takin support from the side panels for the flip action, which basically start wearing out and lose their color in a few months time. The front of the phone feels very plasticky and cheap, with a rubber key pad, and the same piece extended to cover the surroundings of the screen etc. During my 11 months of use I had to re glue the pad to the phone several times. More on that later.the sound quality, ringtones, menu features everything what a normal nokia phone delivers so nothing much on that front.
The slot for the sim card is on the side, like a memory card slot, but the tray in which it is loaded is very flimsly, and can break easily, replacement being a major issue. A good thing I liked was if the phone was on silent, and if I had missed a call or a message, it would continue to flash a nice bright blue light around the border of the phone till the flap was not opened. Ditto if any call came.My phone dint give any hanging troubles, but except one day the vibration motor packed up, and then it was never fixed properly.
I sold it in 11 months for a measely 1700 bucks, because supposedly the phone had not done well in the market and no one was buying it anymore. The body panels of this phone cannot be changed easily, and are very prone to being scratched and losing the finish.I would reccomend this phone to someone on a budget, because if u are buying it second hand, its a different looking phone if maintained properly, and would then be great value for money.
