Hiya folks! this is my first review on mouthshut.com and I want to talk about my nokia 2300 phone.I bought it 8 months back,and im regrettin now.
Appearance is deceptive!! The variety of panels and key mats are cool. The phone is quite compact.but most of the features suck!!!!!
On the positive side, this phone has some good features like...
1.block messages.(addin unwanted contacts ..its jus like an email's junk folder)
2.Fm radio (one cool feature.it works well in the beginning and u can store upto 10 channels)
3.the keypad's four way scroll . the switch off button is on the keypad(i bite nails.. and I dont prefer that usual switch off button in nokia)
4.you can customize your alarm tone(u can use ring tones for alarm. feature not in most of the nokia)
5.the distribution list for group messaging
and now comes the list of cons:
1.the phone wears out . and you have to keep walkin to the service centre now & then.
2.the phone gets stuck and it gets hanged often.you have to switch off and restart.sometimes even the switch off button doesnt work and you have to remove your batteries and put it again for restarting!!!! (this hanging thing happens at least twice a day for me..)
- the speakers stopped workin for me some time back and the ring tone was barely audible(i rushed to service centre and got that rectified!!)
4.polyphonic ringtones.. nokia ads told me the cell has built in polyphonic ringtones.. the tones (including nokia's customary tones) are neither polyphonic nor monophonic.The tones are a cross between mono & poly and it sounds horrible... Even monophonic sounds like a bell.Every tone will sound ding dong on this phone
5.keypad.. the keypad is not the usual nokia keypad.the keys are two way and its confusing initially.if u r tat kind of person who sends >200 msgs a day,then dont go for this phone..
- games.. snake,space impact & reversi... Play them once in a while as the phone gets hanged when u play it too often
On the whole,this phone is jus for look.A sleek and trendy phone with a low quality software.
You have to be a fool to jus go for looks!!!!
