Nirulas is the stuff memories are made of. Any of us who grew up in Delhi in the 1980's or 90's will remember Nirula's for their all american get-up-for being the first rel fast food chain india had even before the finance minister Dr Manmohan Singh came along and waved the flag that let in McDonalds, KFC, Subway and Pizza hut (this list isn't comprehensive!)...
Nirula's was and still is one place you can count on for good pizza, great ice creams, footlongs and subs...but they've added desi combo meals to their repertoire...and manage to juggle the two kinds of fast food pretty well...
My loyalties are still with their old sausage/capsicum/onion and pepperoni pizzas...and the hot fudge sundae here is to die for.If you like that sort of thing.
They even retail cookies at some outlets and they make a good snack for later.
The big problem with Nirulas is -too much choice. You feel like a kid in a candy store as you enter and the cheerful chap behind the counter announces through his microphone-''your order please''-'could I have a minute to just think straight here please'..is all I am feeling right then..along with a rather primal urge to devour everything in sight!
