I've been studying at NIIT, VPE from the past 3 years. The faculties(especially Kedar Sir & Balaji Sir) are very knowledgable and helpful. They understand student difficulties and are also very flexible with their timings. They will clear all your doubts and also give backup/extra sessions in case you are still not clear with the concept. They are very friendly with students and are the true charm of this centre.
However, there is a serious problem with the management. They make big claims while taking admissions like continuous evaluation, assessment and feedback but only concentrate on taking fee installments. I've completed learning all the courses but almost all my exams are still pending with no plans for them in the near future.
The centre had good infrastructure and facilities before but since last few months half of the centre has been given up for rent and they're only left with 1 classroom and 1 practice room. Many times students have been cramped into one corner and have to wait for another batch to get over before so that theirs can start due to lack of space. People like Punam ma'am will lie endlessly and delay exams, classes and do not value the time of students. Since last month, my classes are being canceled and delayed as the projector is not working. The computers are fine but due to the lack of space, one cannot be guaranteed a seat as faculties have started taking lectures in the practice room now(for small batches).
Sometimes lectures will be cancelled(as faculty is on leave or something) and the centre takes no responsibility in informing the students about the same. They don't take action on students for not attending as they've received the fees from the same but won't let students sit for lectures if their payment is outstanding. Amin Sir is good at heart and good at convincing but doesn't know what technologies are running in the market and only concentrates on selling the course. They used to organize events and game sessions earlier which helped a student to interact and build confidence and make friends but they haven't done something like this since I've joined.
If you are unlucky they might send you to other centres(Iike Andheri/ Goregaon) to attend lecture / give exams as they don't have the resources for the same which is truly horrifying.
The portion given in the books is very outdated and no one seems to update it and bring it in line with the industry. Even the faculties know about this but can't do anything as this portion is from NIIT and the exams are based on the books provided and not the knowledge gained.
I was enrolled for Android but the book is based on Android version 4 whereas in the Android 9 is already in the market. The course was good back when it was designed but hasn't been updated since then making it useless for students learning for getting placed in this industry. Valetina ma'am taught me Java and she had very poor English speaking skills.
If you are planning to join you shouldn't expect anything from the management. Rather work hard and take guidance from the faculty here as they are very concerned about the student's future. Unlike the money-minded management.
