Take Care Guys and Gals, PROTECT UR LIPS THIS WINTER.....................................!

Talking about writing Reviews….I love buying new products, trying them out and then writing about them, especially the beauty products range, or the Clothes and Accessories Range.

From cosmetics, to skin care, hair care, I just have to try out a new product launched…its like a type of passion in me.

Recently with the launch of the new Range of skin care products from Neutrogena, a product of Johnson & Johnson, the pretty cute Prachi Desai as their brand ambassador.

Johnson and Johnson are positioning Neutrogena not as a beauty brand essentially, but more as a healthy and ‘dermatologist-recommended brand’. The products have been priced to cater to the premium segment.

When I browse in Malls, I see these Neutrogena Kiosks and their hip salesgirls, trying to woo the customers to buy the Neutrogena products. Somehow I did not like the sound of the word ‘Neutrogena’ and maybe that could have been a psychological reason not to buy the products !

But how long could I resist the temptation was the question ! And soon I took the first plunge into the ‘Neutrogena’ products by buying a Face Wash, Neutrogena Deep Clean Invigorating Face Wash.

I tested it and found the foam lather ‘tingly cool’ and I read about its ‘so-called’ energizing microbeads, which were supposed to leave you feeling amazingly refreshed and exhilarated.

What are these new concepts of ‘microbeads’ and stuff like that? Today the Advertising world and the Beauty Products give such urbane, stylish names, that the consumers get carried away and tend to think that, it is some new formula invented on the planet and rush to buy it, only to find it very regular and common.

I went on reading the entire description of these ‘microbeads’ , which are to “ gently exfoliate skin, while sweeping away dead skin cells and has light gel formula which lathers into bubbly foam removing surface dirt, oil and make-up. And it makes you feel the surge of invigoration as the cooling gel cleans down to pores leaving skin feeling fresh, clean and energized “.

Gawd !! What a huge definition for a ‘Face Wash’ ???

I’ve always been a regular user of “Nivea” and ‘Lakme’ products and recently shifted a little to the VLCC and ‘Body Shop Range. And when compared to ‘Dove’, ‘Nivea’ and ‘Lakme’ face washes, I think Neutrogena would stand Second or Third !!

The next product of Neutrogena which I bought mistakenly was Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer (Norwegian Formula). As usual with the onset of winter, I tend to first buy all new Lip Balms for each purse or clutch, that I frequently carry about. So this winter, among the others, I bought the Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer.

What Neutrogena Claims about this Product :That it is an effective, moisture-enriched SPF 15 lip moisturizer that protects dry, chapped lips. The product as per their ‘claim’ is supposed to

• Softens, smoothes moisturizes and protects dry, chapped lips

• Soothes and conditions lips, keeping them healthy looking and soft in all weather

• PABA-free SPF 15 sunscreen helps protect from harmful UVB/UVA rays

• Fragrance-free, color-free

• Leaves no waxy feel

This is ‘exactly’ what I dislike !! I mean, No Fragrance, No Color….and how do they expect a ‘Female’ to like it ????

The tube costs Rs 95/-. And how does it feel ??? All I can say is “Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer feels ‘Pasty and Waxy’ and has no sweet smell to enchant the ‘Female’ species. And the Effect is not at all long-lasting, as the Company claims !

Infact if you don’t use it regularly, every two to three hours, you have to re-apply it.

And, the ‘Worst Thing’, a Cosmetic Company can do is writing a Stupid ‘Warning Note’ on its product………!!!!!!!!!

I happened to be watching TV and had this tube of Neutrogena Lip Moisturizer in my hand, and I just started reading the wording printed on the tube, while the Advertisements were going on and I read these horrifying words Quote - “WARNING : For external use only. If swallowed, contact a Poison Control Centre right away”. Unquote.

I screeched and rushed for a tissue and rubbed my lips with all force, ensuring to take out what little I had applied on my lips earlier. And then I just threw the tube down, breathing hard….unable to digest what I read !!!

Tell me “Who in the World, would use this Lip Balm after reading this ‘Warning Note’ ? Who would even buy this product, fearing that kids in the house may accidentally put it in their mouth ?

And the Biggest Question is “WHY WAS THIS PRODUCT RELEASED IN THE MARKET WHEN IT WAS FEARED TO BE ‘POISON’ ?”

Can Neutrogena please answer me ?

Friends and Viewers, just for safety sake, “Please” Read the products Warning Notes printed on them, ‘Before, you buy it’.

And for Cattie’s opinion on this………Cattie says…………….”Use any Good Lip Balm or Moisturizer like Lakme, Nivea, VLCC or Body Shop…………BUT DON’T EVER USE NEUTROGENA’S LIP Moisturizer (Norwegian Formula).

What's the Warning written on Neutrogena's Face Wash BTW ???? Is it something like " Use NEUTROGENA FaceE Wash..........and if your skin disappears.............Contact nearest Dermatologist ???? "

Cattie’s Joke – Girls !! especially !! Don’t use this Lip Moisturizer on your Lips………OR....Your Darlin Boy-Friend would get ‘Poisoned’………!!!

Joke Dearies !!!!!!!
