Well I am kind of guy who loves a lots of things and so a lot resides in my PC which includes new movies, games, My canon trip photos, Office Documents, MP3 Albums and so on. But I am also kind of guy who never likes to delete the things I love or visits my PC. Since, my PC visits a lot of things, in Actual its not possible to store all of them on our PC.
That too I was having a PC which only had about 80GB of space, virtually not enough to store all the media stuff into my PC. So to store them all for future references, I decide to write them into CDs and DVDs. And at that time in 2006-07, my only option was Nero 6 or 7.
So I use my Sony Blank DVD-R or DVD+R to store my data into them and I usually burn using the nero 7.Actually the Nero 7 disc came along with the Sony DVD Writer I got in 2007 before that I was using the nero 6 for writing CDs on my Samsung CD RW.
But then, I used the Nero 7 to Write/burn discs on my Sony and Samsung DVD writers and infact I still use the nero 8 for burning my DVDs.
Really a simple and cute interface.!
Wat I liked with nero 7 -
1) It Writes The disc with exact procedure including analyzing the space and so on.
2) The compilation of the data to be burned on the nero 7 is great. U can know exactly how much data can be loaded further into the disc. I always write in full.!
3) The Nero 7 automatically analyses the speed the disc requires to be written. It also allows the users to manually set the speed for burning the speeds. Setting up lowest speed is always better for uncorrupted data.
4) Nero also has other features like disc title, Continuous writing, disc cover designing and so on.
5) The Nero software is universal and so the nero can burn any type disc like Cd, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD RW and so on. I have burned Sony, Moserbear, HP and even many other local unbranded discs.
6) With nero burning u can also perform things like -=copying disc, creating image(Iso or nrg) and also burn more than 2 copies= under one operation.
Problems I experienced with nero -
1) Some time the Software fails to write the Disc successfully. sometimes the burning ends with lots of write errors and this wasted a dozen of my Disc. I lost about more 10 DVDs so far.
2) The working of nero software requires a PC with good performance. Nero fails if the system performance is slow. Hence, nero mostly fail with XP and even Vista. Haven't tried yet with Win 8.
3) Sometimes Nero writing process get stuck with no reason. I mean, there r a lots of bug which are still not resolved with nero. I have not tested how the latest nero performs.
4) And also Sometimes the nero 7 installation and un-installation Fails and creates unknown problems. That too with the genuine Disc provided along with the brand new DVD Writers.
Overall, Nero is a good multi tasking Disc Burning and image creating software and I loved the Nero 6 and 7 a lot.
