During my teenage years, the appearance of a few grey strands in my mane caused much panic. I turned to Neelibhringadi oil as a last resort. And it worked wonders for me.
Not only did the errant grey strands beat a retreat, but I also rapidly grew 'kaalay, ghanay aur lambay baal.' My 'khoobsoorat baal' flourished with only 'thodisi dekh bhaal' – thanks to this magic potion.
Years later, I turned to it again, when post-partum alopecia (hairfall following child-birth) raised it's ugly head ,on my head ! It restored my tresses to their former 'crowning glory'.
This oil, containing a variety of 'jadi booti'is an Ayurvedic concoction from Kerala. It arrests hair fall, stops premature greying and gets rid of dandruff. A regular massage into the scalp will stimulate luxurious hair growth.A vigorous massage with this oil is also an excellent placebo treatment for a migranous headache.
The flip side is the peculiar odour, which is quite strong.
Also, being very sticky,it may need 2 or even 3 shampoo applications to get washed off completely.
It is easily available at all Ayurvedic pharmacies. However, the brand from the house of Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakal is preferred by this reviewer.
