My dad was in Indian Navy, served for around 30 years. Note that it is not the same navy as your merchant navy which mot people commonly know.
Indian Navy is the branch of our armed forces which protects our seas and maritime borders. Now Indian Navy has hundreds of bases all over India. Navy men also have families and children and they need education too. They get transferred every 35 years to a new place and that puts alot of pressure on the families.
Keeping this in mind, Naval administration created a separate schooling system for wards of their sailors and officers. These schools are know as Naval children school. They are generally not open to civilian population and only serve to Naval families.Navy children schools follow C.B.S.E curriculum and tries to maintain highest standards of education.
Naval children school in Colaba is one such branch and it is very well manged, that is expected as it is directly supervised by Navy.
Teachers: It's teachers are well trained and knowledgeable in their respective subjects.
Many a times you will find wives of Naval officers filling up temporarily when a permanent teacher is not available. This makes sure that syllabus is never paused at any time of the year.
Sports & facilities: They also have access to world-class sports facilities built by Navy, so the students get to take part and grow in sports too.
Verdict: Since it is part of the Naval system, the students come out of it highly disciplined and ready to take on anything that life throws at them. Good school!
