I have got sweet memories of this wonderful historical place, where I have been a frequent visitor. I always used to go there every week ends when I was young with my parents. It it surely one of the architectural wonders I have ever seen, situtated in Palayam, right in the heart of the capital city of Kerala, Trivandrum. The Museum is closed on Mondays.

The museum was built in 19th Century and named after John Napier who was the former Governor General of Madras.Napier Museum is with in the park/botanical garden in the compound of Zoo It is very calm and beautiful place and well maintained. The museum houses lot of archaeological and historic artefacts, ancient ornaments, bronze idols, temple chariot, carvings and much more.

Entry Fee is Rs.20/. The Museum is good with mostly the personal collections of Travancore Royal Family.Photography is not allowed. The building is nice, its a big premise containing the Shree Chitra Art gallary, the zoo and the Fish Aquarium.A basic collection of statues including various artifacts from Java and Bali! Not very large at all - an hour or less to stroll through the two galleries. The evenings are good here. You can listen to AIR having a good breeze with all around lighting. Our childhood days are evergreen visiting this beautiful place every now and then. The vendors who sells small items outside the premises is a lovely sight.
