Last month I visited Thiruvananthapuram with my family. My kids wanted to visit the Napier Museum because their school teacher recommended to visit the museum.

I too believe that visiting museums is one of the best way for children to learn history because museums present history in an engaging manner through their artifacts.

The landmark Napier museum is surrounded by lush greenery garden. The nearby zoo, Aquarium and art gallery add to the appeal, making it a perfect outing for families and art enthusiasts.

The museum is named after Lord Francis Napier, who was the governor of Madras state. The Architecture of the Museum is very Attractive and Awesome. It was designed in 1880 by architect Robert Kissom. This architectural masterpiece that combines a variety of architectural styles including Gothic, Indo-Saracenic, Kerala, Mughal & Chinese, it's a treasure trove of history, art, and architecture. This is an excellent place to explore Kerala's rich cultural heritage.

The museum houses an impressive collection of artifacts, including bronze idols, ancient ornaments, ivory carvings, and traditional Kerala temple chariots. The mural paintings depicting mythological stories are a visual delight. It's a remarkable place that allows visitors to go back through centuries of history.

A standout feature of the museum is its collection of statues, bronze idols & exquisite sculptures, crafted with incredible detail, reflect the skill of ancient artisans and the deep spiritual traditions of the time.

We Loved the structure of the beautiful building. Its amazing to witness the glory of the structure constructed over 140 years back. The maintenance and cleanliness of the museum were impressive as well. It was clear that great care is taken to preserve the artifacts and ensure a pleasant environment for visitors.

Tickets are nominally priced at ₹; 20/- per person. The Food courts are available inside the museum. Lots of variety of chats and snacks are available with decent dine in place

Whether you're a history enthusiast or someone curious about ancient art and culture, Napier museum provides a rich and enlightening experience. It’s a perfect blend of history, spirituality, and artistry, making it a must visit destination.
