Being a nagpurian, I am very attached to this place. Though I shifted to Mumbai due to job location, I can never forget my favorite city - Nagpur.
Ya I know it is famous for oranges, but there's lot to know about this place.
Located at the very center of India, this is the third most developed cities after Mumbai and Pune.
The name'Nagpur' is derived from the Nag river which used to flow inside the city.
The city is the commercial and trading hub in the vidarbha region. the city also has two thermal power stations - Koradi and Khaperkheda.
Food: Nagpur has its own style of cuisine called - Saoji [either veg or non-veg].
When you refer Saoji that means you are inviting yourself the most SPICY food in India.
Places to visit:
Sitabuldi: It is like a daily market. It is major commercial area of the city.
Deekshabhoomi: It is a temple like structure which looks amazing. It is actually a destination of justice to the dalits. Long time back, the great Dr. B.R. Ambedkar gave the oath of buddhism to lakhs of dalits in this place. Hence its is called DeekshaBhoomi.
Seminary Hills: It is a picnic destination for lot of school children. It provides a great view of the city.
