I was looking for a playmate for my existing cat which has become quite lonely of late. Hunting begins and was quite challenging as due to the current Covid situation moving out is constricted [Pune]. So decided to search for the online option to bring another pet home. Mykitten.in has a very attractive and convincing web page and has hit all the corners when it comes to a convincing marketing gimmick.
Booked on 13 the Mar.2021 out of 51 pics.s sent of kittens. Picked a grey Persian Kitten. Aged 2.1 months. The promise that they convey. All kittens are naturally bred.
The cost includes-

+health and breed certificate from a registered vet.

17th Mar. received Persian Kitten
The kitten was not eating anything except having water on Day 1 of delivery. The kitten was visibly lean and weak.
Day 2- Didn't eat dry kitten food just ate wet food.
Day 3- Raised my concern with the Mykitten rep. that the kitten is not eating and as promised is not a healthy kitten. It's not active sleep throughout and motions were also loose. It has never been properly littered trained has never used litter sand, was littering all around.
They started questioning the brand of cat food given as was asked to give only Royal Canin additional without having actually physically analyzed was asked to give the kitten Augmentin 3.3. I refused to give an antibiotic without a Dr. checkup. The condition of the kitten was further deteriorating as it was not eating at all just sipping water.
Day 4- I took the kitten to my regular Vet Dr. Pallab, who comes with 17+ years of experience. both its ears were infested with ear mites. This proves what kind of unhealthy condition this kitten was kept in. We started the medication with 1 sitting for both ear cleanup to followed for another 3.
Further seeing the symptoms the kitten was running with fever and uninterested in eating loose motion vomit were pointing to viral FIP infection. So we started treatment for viral infection as well.
When I raised my concerns with MyKitten - I was challenged that it's not their fault, I should not listen to my Dr. he will kill the kitten. I need to only give Augmentin which they have asked. All this was being quoted by a non-medical rep of MyKitten. they were not ready to replace the kitten on top of that was shamelessly defending their wrong practice and no accountability. I was pointed towards my responsibility of taking care of the kitten and mind you I already was by starting the treatment with the best Vet. Dr. around.
Additional - there is no paper trail of the purchase as they don't share receipts.
Lesson Learnt -
# MyKitten sucks they carry their business dishonestly. There should be an IT raid done on this company and should be banned from doing business as it's a most unethical company.
# Don't buy anything without a receipt.
# When ever purchasing live stocks [pets ] don't rely on pictures sent. Go for live video calls to inspect and select not recorded video.
# don't pay upfront
# Avoid purchasing live stock[pets] online the risk of being falsified is quite high.
Way forward - Kitten is under treatment.
