The Movie

My Blue Heaven starts out with Vinnie (Steve Martin) who is playing a mob informant moving into his new house that the witness protection program has bought him. Vinnie doesn’t make it easy at all for the agent that is suppose to be over seeing him and making sure he makes it to the two court appearances. As old habits are hard to break and you may can move the person away from something, but until they realize that they need to change, it’s a hopeless case. That pretty much sums up the behavior of Vinnie. As he attempts to adjust to his new environment, he decides to go grocery shopping where he does a few less than ethical things. Then it appears that he steals liquor and a car, which just seems to be the start of the stress he is going to be adding to the life of Barney Coopersmith (Rick Moranis).

In Closing

This is a very amusing film that offers up tons of laughs. I even found myself feeling like, “Oh, my!” and laughing. Vinnie reminds me of the big dog that misbehaves to the point of embarrassing the owner.
