I read a lot about Murder. It got a few above average reviews from some critics. I was tempted to watch the movie, despite of the fact that I had seen Unfaithful.
Story: - Simran is Sudhir?s second wife(something that?s revealed 30 minutes into the movie). Sudhir is driven by success. He still loves his first wife, and takes Simran for granted. Simran is bored, and is begging Sudhir for some entertainment. Enter Sunny, Simrans ex-BF from their college days. They run into each other on a rainy day. Sunny reminds her of all the fun that they had before, and all that she is missing. Sunny successfully seduces her after a few attempts, and she gets used to him. She starts lying to Sudhir, Sudhir sets a detective on her trail, and then Sunny is murdered.
Who killed him?
Treatment: - Pathetic. The movie couldn?t have been made any worse. It was a good story line, never mind the part that it was ripped off. There is some shocking skin show from Mallika. (And that was a major reason why I saw the movie). She looks really seductive in some scenes. The movie is all about her. She has moved beyond kissing to baring her naked back. What next?
There is some chemistry between Sunny and Simran. They kiss passionately. He touches her all over. All so titillating. But there are unfortunately only a few good scenes in the movie. It starts off well, at a decent pace. But most of the songs are not needed, and ultimately end up breaking the movie, resulting in the audience loosing its interest. Only one song(tujhe main pyar karu puri raat) looks good.
Direction: - Nothing new in the movie if you had already seen Unfaithful. I am sure Anurag Basu wasn?t paid for this movie. He doesn?t deserve to be paid anyways.
Performances: - Mallika is bearable this time around(not as annoying as Khwaish). Ashmit Patel, as Sudhir, the boring husband, is good. Emraan Hashmit has only one expression throughout the movie.
