Munna Bhai MBBS
An appreciable crack at the noblest profession on earth
The movie is a comic blend of the Mafia surfacing the society and the world of medicine. All the characters made commendable performances. The comedy deserves an applause right from the frustrated laughs of Dr. Asthana to the Bindaas Munna Bhai.
Characters who did not get much screen time also left an impact be it the poor little Sindhi Doctor or the mere mention of Mr. Circuiteshwar?s son, Short Circuit.
The movie moves around a small time don ?Munna Bhai? whose parents are living under the impression that he is a doctor. Courtesy Dr. Asthana, they come to know about the truth and then begins the journey of comic revenge of Munna Bhai. The unfair means he uses to clear the examinations can be read in the local newspapers every alternate day.
Though the highlighted insensitivity of the doctors is defeated in the end, but how many doctors can help their patients recover, when they are emotionally attached? Can they tear open a loved one for operation? Or their smiles and 'jaadu ki jhappi?s will take over the modern day state of the art medicines?
The spectators enjoy a good laugh every time Munna Bhai mentions the need of the forms to be filled. But the number of medico-legal cases filed against doctors is still on the toll.
The formalities need to be finished off because the doctors never know what they are going to be sued for.
The movie provides three hours of entertainment and genuine laughter time but this sure shouldn?t shake our trust in our doctors. After all we won't want 'Mamus' sitting in a doctor?s cabin the next time we need a check up!
