Wow. Its really great that my favourite director Anurag Kashyap came back with his true genes. May be because of expectations from him are really high after directing Gangs of Wasseypur series, black friday.
Plot and concept is really good. The story is about the period of 70s. Shravan a boxer with national level inspirations spars with local strongman Bhagwan Das Mishra. He tries for professional selection and struggles to marry Bhagwans niece.
This is the story of a fighter who wants to do right things .
Beautiful story handled beautifully by Anurag Kashyap. We can find Desi Mannerism in his movies which I like very much and you will find that in Mukkabaaz as well. Its a well balanced love story of a fighter.
Performances are really good. Vineet Kumar singh has played Shravan which is very much convincing. Good to see him as lead. I liked his performance in Cityof gold, ugly and Bombay talkies as well. But this is his milestone. Very well acted in tough and even emotional scene.
Also Jimmy Shergil is very nice to watch like his all other performances. In this he has shown solid tough guy which is very nice to watch. Nice performance by Rajesh Tailang as well.
Good music by Prashant Pillai. I liked songs liked Paintra and Mushkil Hai Apna. Really nice.
Screenplay is well handled by Anurag Kashyap along with story. However some scenes they have dragged so much some love story.
Cinematography wise is also good.
I will say overall very nice to watch at beginning of this year and a nice movie from Anurag Kashyap.
