MUBARAKAN: Seniors Day Out:
Well, well.
Anil Kapoor, Pawan Malhotra, and Ratna Pathak hold together a fragile story line. Well, actually there is no story. It's small disjointed episodes put together by competent editing and viola! A Hindi movie is ready.
Gags r called comedy. But then, this too is welcome in the insipid Hindi releases of late.
Anil Kapoor @ 60 does well. At least, he can raise a few guffaws. Pawan Malhotra(59) comes a close next. A competent actor, he raises this sub-standard movie to a watchable category. Better movies were expected from Ratna Pathak(60) after LIPSTICK UNDER MY BURKHA released just a week back. But then, everyone needs work.
Arjun Kapoor(32) doesn't know acting. He just had one expression - of being constantly constipated. This expression was competently matched by Athiya Shetty(24). How can anyone call them actors and give them work too! Shocked beyond belief. Both r expressionless match made in heaven. Touch wood!
IleAnasultan D'Cruz(30) is lovely but wasted. I wish Neha Sharma(29) was in the place of Athiya. She is so lovely.
Wonder, why Sikh male characters r shown sporting turbans! When the actors sporting turbans do not know it's significance.
It's a crass movie. But since u leave ur brain back home, so u can laugh, smile, guffaw, smirk, twitch, etc depending on how the movie is proceeding on screen.
U can sleep too as in the second half, it's preachy and boring.
And as there is no originality in any Hindi movie, that iconic song'Hawa Hawa' of the 80s, is in the movie! WHY!
Yes, it is time pass. For today's idiotic movies, if I've written this much for this stupid movie, it is because of the seniors' efforts to hold the movie together.
Anil paa ji. Chak de Phatte. Tussi Great Ho.
