Remember the days when MTV played music? Gone are the days where we can sit back and enjoy a music video. Music television, now, has turned itself to a new level, a level where music is secondary and only acts as a supplement to boring, and senseless shows.
What happened? Was it the emergence of Pop-culture? The rise of reality TV? Was it a general decline in the quality of talent? Whatever happened, MTV is making the FOX network look like one of the classiest forms of entertainment. This is the sad reality, especially since MTV is one of the biggest influence in the lives of impressionable young adults. They handle this responsibility, through misleading viewers that the only people accepted are skinny, attractive, bubble-gum popping audience.
They handle this by promoting irresponsible behavior, pre-packaged talent, sex, violence.
There are a few good points, and that is they are pointing out the importance of racial inclusion and sexual orientation. Thats an important message, but unfortunately one that is barely by their viewing audience.
MTV is not about music. Its about some untalented people, machine induced voices, short skirts, anorexic, sex crazed culture with nothing to strive for.
